BIG news….we’ve hired Executive Chef Carol Strother AND our next “Twenty/20 Cafe Presents:” Artist and New Chef Meet and Greet is next Thursday, February 20 from 5-8pm.

A little about Ms. Strother…her background includes stints most recently at Mario’s Italian Restaurant in New Lebanon, New York and the Apple Tree Inn in the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts.. She earned her AOS in culinary arts from Johnson & Wales College and went on to The Four Seasons Hotel in Boston for the next 5 years.  She is an active volunteer at Maranatha Farm Animal Rescue in Ridgeland, and a member of SOS, committed to ending hunger in America. She cooks from scratch and from the heart. 

Impressed? We were too and are thrilled to have her on board. Plus, she’s joining our team at the perfect time, since we just rolled out our extended hours Thursday through Saturday, staying open an extra four hours, until 8pm, to offer dinner service on those three nights. For the February 20th Meet and Greet, visitors will get a chance to meet Ms. Strother along with two featured local photographers, Tom Korbutt and Wes Grady. Both focus on capturing the beauty of nature and have decades of experience.

Twenty/20 Cafe Presents: Maranatha Farm Fundraiser

As many of you know, we are dog lovers at the Cafe, with our Rhodesian Ridgeback, Marley, as our unofficial cafe mascot. Marley was with us every step of the way, often hanging out with the construction crews as we readied the space for our grand opening.

We are excited to team up with Maranatha Farm to support all the noble work they do to rescue and find homes for animals. They are 501(c)(3) organization that describe themselves as: “A small group responding to a need for compassionate care of injured and mistreated animals. We have two small farms devoted to rehabilitation of animals, and can accept anything from horses to hamsters. We accept and work with all breeds. We have limited facility for cats/kittens, but can usually find fosters.”

So come on out and join us for lunch Saturday. We can’t wait to meet your pooches!

“Twenty/20 Cafe Presents:” Maranatha Farm Fundraiser

Each month, Twenty/20 Cafe hosts special events geared to cultivating community and fun for those living, working and visiting Bluffton and the surrounding areas.

Bluffton, January 5—Twenty/20 Cafe is going to the dogs on February 1. The Cafe kicks off their 2014 series of “Twenty/20 Cafe Presents” monthly events on Saturday, February 1 from 11-3 with the 1st Annual Reunion for Maranatha Farm Adopted Dogs.

10% of all sales from the event will go directly to Maranatha Farm, a nonprofit located in nearby Ridgeland dedicated to rehabilitating injured and mistreated animals.

“We are all dog lovers at Twenty/20, so we wanted to do something to raise funds for the wonderful work the folks at Maranatha Farm do for animals,” owner Michael Hausman says.

Everyone is encouraged to bring their dogs and enjoy lunch on the outdoor patio of Twenty/20 Cafe, located in the Sungate Medical Plaza right outside the entrance to Sun City in Okatie. Pet owners are also encouraged to bring their own chairs and water bowls to hang out in the parking lot which will be blocked off as well.

“Even if you haven’t adopted from Maranatha Farm, still stop by and learn about the work our rescue does in the community,” Karen Smith of Maranatha Farm says.

Hausman and his wife Annette, who also works at the cafe behind the counter as well as the back office, have always owned pets, including the cafe’s unofficial mascot, Marley, a Rhodesian Ridgeback.

“There will be some special treats for our canine guests too,” Annette says.

Twenty20 Season's Greetings

Happy happy holidays everyone!

We are filled with the holiday spirit this year thanks to all of our fans, friends, family, suppliers, and the Bluffton community that have all been so supportive since we opened our doors just a few months ago, and we can’t wait to see what 2014 brings. With the long hours and hard work that come with opening a new business, we are pretty sure we won’t find any coal in our stockings this year :)

Whatever you’re doing for the holidays, we hope it’s filled with love, laughter and joy.

Big shout-out to The Island Packet, which featured us a few weeks ago and interviewed some of our early fans. Here’s a snippet of the article:

“McMullen said the coffee was delicious, and Jennings, who had just moved to Sun City Hilton Head the day before, enjoyed the indulgence of the homemade coffee cake.

“We’ve been out shopping at Publix, Walmart and Food Lion, so this is a real pleasure,” Jennings said.

They had been served by Michael Hausman, who along with Dr. Ken Farr is a partner with Dr. Ken Farr of Palmetto Eye Specialist, opened the cafe on Sept. 23.”

Twenty/20 Cafe Presents: Zack Stiltner Event Photos

Zack Stiltner Twenty-20 Cafe Presents December 6th

Thanks to everyone who came out last Friday to our evening menu debut and a solo set by Bluffton’s own Zack Stiltner. We had a blast listening to Zack cover everything from “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” to some Johnny Cash tunes along with original songs. What did you think of our new cheese plates? We offer four types: Wisconsin, Wisconsin antipasto, Italian, and Italian antipasto.

For the Italian plates, the cheeses include Fontina Val D’Aosta Dop, Pecorino Grand Cru, Taleggio, Ubriaco, and Gorgonzola Dolce.

For the Wisconsin plates, the featured cheese are Shepgerd’s Blend, Dante, Gran Querso, Cocoa Cadonna, and Hooks Blue.

These creamy and flavorful cheeses are all provided by International Gourmet Foods.

What We’re Thankful for This Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving from Twenty20

We’ve got a lot to be thankful for in 2013, in part thanks to everyone who has visited Twenty/20 Cafe since we opened only months ago. It has been quite the whirlwind, somehow both feeling like we opened ages ago and that we just opened yesterday.

Despite the long road to opening our doors, plagued with the wrong size doors, traveling for gelato training by Advanced Gourmet, and waiting on permits, it was all worth it. We’re now slowly becoming a part of the Bluffton area community, and that’s certainly something to be thankful for.

Personally, I’m thankful for of course my family as well as our wonderful Twenty/20 Cafe staff and partners. Without you, this dream would not be possible.

We are in the process of setting up a way to give back for those that need help paying for eye-related goods and services, which is another reason I’m thankful to have Twenty/20 as a public vehicle to help give back to our community. More details on that coming soon.

We hope that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with family, fun, and of course, good food. Cheers.

Twenty/20 Cafe Presents: Zack Stiltner

For our next “Twenty/20 Cafe Presents” event on Friday, December 6, we’re debuting our evening menu and hosting an acoustic performance by rising local musician Zach Stiltner. Our new evening menu items will include tasty cheese boards, perfect for pairing with our carefully selected wine and craft beer choices.

Our wonderful entertainment for the evening will be provided by Zach, who grew up in Fort Mill, studied at College of Charleston, then moved to Bluffton about three years ago. For those of you that attended River Dog Brewing‘s grand opening, Zach was the musician for the event. His solo performances focus on his songwriting and acoustic skills, but he’s also formed his own country band with Billy Boyles, Mike Fletcher and Bob Bielski called the Zach Stiltner Band. For more information about Zach’s work, visit

New Menu Item: Gourmet Soups From Blount Fine Foods

We are continually shaping our menu by keeping our eyes peeled for the best of the best to satisfy customer requests as well as complement our existing items. So, what’s better than an artisan sandwich, empanada, or potato tortas paired with some warm, delicious soups for the chilly seasons? We’d heard more than one customer ask if we planned to offer soups, and although it wasn’t in our original game plan, it’s the perfect addition to our creative and carefully curated menu.

Once we decided soup had to be on the menu, we were tasked with finding a product that fit with our mission of serving fresh, top quality, highly respected products. We soon discovered Blount Fine Foods, one of the best in the business. Blount’s commitment to maximizing their sustainability along with using only the best, freshest ingredients and stellar reputation prompted us to try their recipes for ourselves. After the first savory bite, we were sold.

To kick off our soup offerings, we opted to start with their Tomato Bisque and Chicken with Wild Rice soups. We will be rotating these frequently, so make sure to check out our Facebook page for up-to-date information about our soups of the week.

Fall and soups go hand in hand right now, and we’re happy to provide our cozy spot and hearty soups for our Bluffton, Hilton Head Island area, and visiting guests.
